WHAT DOES SELF-CARE ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE AND HOW TO KEEP FROM BURNOUT | NASHVILLE, TN LIFESTYLE AND MOTHERHOOD BLOGGER

I keep seeing “self-care” promoted everywhere these days, but I’m going to be honest: I don’t really know how to actually do it.

Like no, I can’t take 10 minutes and do deep breathing in silence, wake up before my kids to have quiet time, drink tea while it’s hot, or journal any of my thoughts during the day. Taking a shower and going to the bathroom aren’t even things I can always do when I need to. Most of the time, I have to wait until Joseph comes home for the day to feel like I can accomplish anything because I have a Stage 5 Clinger baby and a toddler asking “why” every minute he’s awake.

If we’re talking about doing self-care things at the end of the day after the kids are in bed, honestly, collapsing into bed is my default🤦 I can’t really seem to find the energy to doing anything else. Especially something just for myself. Maybe it’s just the enneagram 2w1 in me?

But I know (and feel) how real burnout can be and I need to do better with my self-care. So talk to me…please give me some ideas. What practical things do you do for self-care and to keep you from burnout?
