Spring in Nashville is full of exciting events and activities around every corner. A celebratory introduction to warmer weather and sunshine. Below, I’ve featured some key events happening in Nashville for March, April, and May.

3. If you’re just visiting for a weekend, make note of the events marked, “The New Girl’s MUST See!”.

When: March 1st-March 17th
Where: Various locations throughout Nashville
A two-week celebration embracing the Irish roots of Nashville’s own bluegrass and country music. The Irish Fest will end in a festive St. Patrick’s Day Party at McNamara’s Irish Pub with traditional music and food all day.

SEC MEN’S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
When: March 8th-March 12th
Where: Bridgestone Arena – 501 Broadway
Experience a week of action-packed basketball games at the SEC Men’s Tournament.
*New Girl Tip: A FREE event designed for all ages, Sunkist Soda SEC Fanfare will be taking over Broadway during the tournament and feature interactive games, sponsor activations, and live entertainment.

CHEEKWOOD IN BLOOM (The New Girl’s MUST See!)

When: March 18th-April 23rd
Where: Cheekwood Botanical Gardens
Time: Tuesday-Sunday 9am-5pm
Enjoy the sights and smell of over 100,000 blooming tulips as well as 50,000 other beautiful flowers. Each weekend is full of crafts, live music, bunnies, and tours.

NASHVILLE FASHION WEEK (The New Girl’s MUST See!)

When: April 4th-8th
Time: Each evening starts at 6:30pm
A city-wide celebration showcasing Nashville’s thriving fashion and retail community featuring local, regional, and national designers and industry professionals.

*NASHVILLE CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

When: Saturday, April 8th
Where: Nashville Public Square – 350 Deaderick Street
Time: 10am-5pm
A family-friendly celebration of spring and Japanese culture. Music, dance, martial arts, Japanese Candyman, Cosplay contest, and Kaminari Taiko.

EGGSTRAVAGANZOO

When: Saturday, April 15th
Where: Nashville Zoo at Grassmere – 3777 Nolensville Pike
Time: 9am-4pm
Nashville Zoo’s annual spring celebration and egg hunt. 10 scheduled egg hunts, zoo-wide hunt for golden eggs, zookeeper talks, spring-themed games, animal encounters, bounce houses, and face painting.
New Girl Parent Tip: Start your day by having breakfast with the Easter Bunny at 8am. Meet and greet and photo opportunities as well as special gifts for all kids who attend.

ST JUDE ROCK N ROLL MARATHON

When: Saturday, April 29th
Where: Start Line: 8th and Broadway (Downtown); Finish Line: Nissan Stadium
Time: 7:15am
A charity marathon with bands along the course celebrating each participant. Whether you run the race or watch the race, it’ll be a rockin’ good time for all!
New Girl Tip: While the full marathon is run on Saturday, April 29th, there will be expos, a half marathon, a 5K, and a kid’s rock run throughout April 27th-April 30th.
New Girl Parent Tip: If you register as a family for the marathons, you can save up to $12 off each registration.

*TENNESSEE CRAFT FAIR

When: May 5th-May 7th
Where: Centennial Park – 2500 West End Avenue
Time: 10am-5pm
The premier craft festival of the Southeast. Over 200 fine craft artists with one-of-a kind handmade crafts. Live craft demonstrations, fun activities for kids, and delicious food.

IROQUOIS STEEPLECHASE (The New Girl’s MUST See!)

When: Saturday, May 13th
Where: Percy Warner Park
Time:1pm-5:30pm (Gates open at 8am)
Experience the tradition, pageantry, and energy of the horse racing sport.

NASHVILLE WINE AND FOOD FESTIVAL (The New Girl’s MUST See!)

When: Saturday, May 20th
Where: Bicentennial Park – 600 James Robertson Parkway
Time: 12pm-4pm
Enjoy wine and food from top sommeliers, producers, and chefs. Over 50 wineries, 20 local restaurants, 10 breweries, an artisanal market featuring local producers.
