Make mistakes. Go ahead and just do it. I think so many of us in our 20s and 30s are so stinkin’ afraid of not being perfect all the time so we hide, or we wait, and then suddenly we’re just stuck. Stuck feeling bored, lonely, and then the self doubt about our purpose in life creeps in a little bit more. Before we know it, we’re working a job that steals our joy, befriending people out of obligation instead of true friendship, and no longer writing our dreams down on little pieces of scrap paper and tucking them away in journals with wrinkled pages. ▫
Go ahead. Take a chance and look mistakes in the face. Because #realtalk: making a mistake will be the best learning experience for your future. It’ll pull you in new directions, it’ll grow you bigger and better for the next opportunity, and you know what? it’s a whole heck of a lot more exciting than drinking iced coffee in bed while watching your 110th episode of Gilmore Girls…or Stranger Things. Take your pick.
Thank you for posting this message. I moved down to Nashville a few months ago from New York. I had never been there before so it was definitely a risk. I’m glad it paid off, because I love it here. That’s what this age is for!
