I used to think that if I wanted to succeed in my dreams and creative passions I had to do it on my own. I had to plug away until 3am. I had to say yes to everything. I had to hide my failed attempts. I had to be my own cheerleader.
But I don’t think it’s supposed to be that way.
I think we’re supposed to surround ourselves with community.
With people who will spend an entire day at a local coffee shop so we don’t have to work in silence, alone. With people who encourage you to say no when anything but the best comes along. With people who see your failed attempts as stepping stones and not death sentences. With people who will root for you on the days you don’t even know how to root for yourself.
I think that’s what success looks like…community.
